The 5 best places I went to in 2015

December 21, 2015

Over the course of 2015, I have had the pleasure of going to six different countries in three overseas trips. I’m honestly so grateful to have the opportunity of going on these trips. They say a lot about how traveling humbles you, and I completely agree. The more you travel, the more you really start to grasp how little of the world you’ve actually seen. From Boston to Shanghai, I really have gone across the entire globe, and I still have one more trip this year to go. Now for my top 5…

Capri, Italy

Apparently this little island is quite the tourist hotspot, but before going I had never even heard of the place. And wow, was I missing out. This gorgeous little paradise is just off the coast of Sorrento, and with towering cliffs and shimmering seas, it is quite worth the detour.

Paris, France

Ah, yes, the city of light and love. I’ve often heard that Paris is overhyped, but in my opinion, it is actually underhyped due to all the people saying it’s overhyped. When they say Paris is so gorgeous it’s on a whole other level, they mean it. The immaculate rows of white buildings, the Seine, there isn’t a single spot in the entire city that I could not find beauty in.

Kyoto, Japan

Kyoto is a historical town, but without the boring museum tours and yawn-inducing lectures of your high-school field trips. Every temple is absolutely breathtaking and perfectly serene, making a trip to Kyoto feel exactly like taking a step back in time.

LA, USA

Despite what they may tell you, about LA’s get rich quick attitude, in my opinion, LA is a fantastic city. Thousands of ambitious souls flock here each year, meaning that the cumulative talent of the city is staggeringly high. And the beaches… the beaches alone are worth coming here for.

Bath, UK

I have yet to properly write about Bath, England, but in a word, it’s beautiful. All the houses are made of limestone, so that everything is bright and uniform. The shops and cafes are delightful (the pizza is A+) and the entire atmosphere of the place is bright and sunny, matching the buildings.
