“To live will be an awfully big adventure,” – Peter Pan
Hey, I’m Claire, a Bostonian student on a mission to see as much of the world as I can. Travel has always been a huge part of my life – as a Chinese-American, most of my family lives in China, so I’ve flown 13 hours across the globe to see them starting when I was five years old. Cramped economy seats and jet lagged nights became part of my life, and have been ever since.
But visiting my relatives was not so glamorous. So although I had been traveling all my life, the travel bug didn’t really bite me until a school exchange trip to Italy. When I went to China I could still understand the words and I was immersed by a culture that I had grown up with. But in Italy, I didn’t understand a word. I was completely surrounded by the new, and I threw myself into it with elation. The unknown enthralled me like nothing had ever before. This world is so different, with so many different foods, languages, cultures, religions tucked away in the furthest corners. And I long to see as much of it as I possibly can.
About Adventure At Work
There’s many a quote out there describing our lives as just one big adventure. These quotes have resonated with me my whole life; they make even the dullest lecture seem like just one step on the path to somewhere great. Because if life is an adventure, then this moment in time is just an adventure at work.
