The Best Outdoor Dining in Boston: Post-Covid Edition

Now that Massachusetts has reached Phase 2 of reopening after coronavirus lockdowns, a select number of restaurants have reopened for patio dining. If you’ve really been missing the in-person dining experience, you need to try a meal at these now reopened restaurants for the best outdoor dining Boston edition.

Dillon’s

A classic American restaurant, Dillon’s iconic patio is now open again! They are open Monday-Friday from 4PM-11PM, Saturday 11AM-11PM, and Sunday 12PM-8PM. I recommend making a reservation on their OpenTable.

Bostonia Public House

Bostonia Public House is a classic New England restaurant in the Financial District. Bostonia’s patio is open Monday – Thursday from 12PM – 10PM, Friday & Saturday from 12PM-11PM and Sunday 11AM-9PM. Book a table on their OpenTable.

Earl’s

Premium casual dining at Earl’s is back. Their stylish Prudential Center patio is now open, and you can book a reservation on their OpenTable.

Stillwater

Stillwater describes their fare as ‘Elevated Comfort Food,’ so expect rich, heartwarming, and delicious dishes. Their patio hours are currently somewhat unclear, so I recommend making a reservation here.

GreCo

If you’ve been craving Mediterranean cuisine, you have to try GreCo’s classic Greek offerings! GreCo has two locations open now, one in Back Bay and one in Seaport, both open daily from 11AM-9PM. Their Seaport location even has a little patio for pets!

The Barking Crab

The Barking Crab is somewhat of a Boston institution at this point – their seafront tent is usually packed day after day in the summer months. They are finally back open from 12PM – 8PM daily, and don’t take reservations.

Life Alive Cafe

Life Alive Cafe specializes in organic food that caters to all dietary needs – so whether you’re vegan, gluten-free, or simply looking for a healthy meal, they’ve got something for you! Their Back Bay location is now open from 10AM – 9PM daily.

Saltie Girl

Well-known as a spot for delicious seafood, the Saltie Girl is back open for business! The patio will be open from 11AM -– 9PM from Monday – Thursday and 11AM – 10PM Friday, serving an all-day menu, plus brunch from 10AM – 3PM on weekends, an all-day menu from 3PM – 10PM on Saturday, and an all-day menu from 3PM – 9PM on Sunday. Coppa

Coppa is a small, hip spot specializing in Italian fare tucked away in the South End. They are now open for dinner on Sunday–Thursday from 4PM – 10:30PM and on Friday & Saturday from 4PM – 11PM. They are also accepting reservations online.

Barcelona Wine Bar

This restaurant specializes in – you guessed it – delectable Spanish food! From tapas to paella to Iberian ham, if you can’t take a trip to Spain, this is the next best thing. They plan on opening their patios at their South End and Brookline locations as soon as possible so keep an eye out!

Committee Boston

Another fantastic Greek restaurant for this list – Committee Boston’s patio is now open with weekend brunch from 10AM – 3PM on Saturdays and Sundays and dinner from 5PM – 10PM Wednesday through Sunday. You can make a reservation here.

Citrus & Salt

Citrus & Salt has been a new favorite for trendy diners looking for delicious Mexican cuisine and stunning cocktails. Opening at 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 11 a.m. for Sunday brunch. Make a reservation here.

Eataly

If you haven’t heard of Eataly, where have you been? It’s an Italian marketplace slash restaurant with locations all around the world. Their Boylston Plaza patio (Il Patio di Eataly) will be open from 11AM – 9PM daily, and you can make reservations here.

Itadaki

Itadaki specializes in Japanese small plates and sakis. As of now, their patio is open from 4PM – 9PM daily. To make a reservation, call 617-267-0840 after 1:00pm.

Mother Anna’s

Most outdoor dining in Boston is lovely, but this Italian restaurant has an absolutely stunning patio with views of the Boston skyline! They also have additional seating on the street or the back patio. They’re currently taking reservations via phone only, so call at (617)-523-8496 to book a table.
